First time submitters question

When submitting cards for grading should I put the card in penny sleeve and place it in the card saver? I realize that the PSA instruction sheet does not say to do this. However, I would appreciate knowing the methods used by veteran submitters. Thanks.

  • I always inlcude a penny sleeve if I'm not using a card saver. The other rigid holders allow for too much movement.
Shouldn't need one if using a card saver.

I use only a card saver. Using a penny sleeve is unnecessary and creates an opportunity to damage the card. Never had a problem.

Penny sleeve all the way. Also, if it's modern foil or high gloss cards that are susceptible to
chipping, then definitely put it in a penny sleeve first otherwise the foil may get stuck
to the card saver when they try to take it out. Remember to use Card Saver 1 also.
    Not the Card Saver II.

  • Thanks for all the good advice. I will be sending the order out on Thursday. I hope I don't get the famous "Darth Grader" that I have read about on these boards.image Again, thanks.
  • If you are sending in any modern cards that have a glossy finish, metallic sprakly surfaces, etc. use a penny sleeve. These surfaces tend to stcik to the inside of the Cardsaver and chip off when the card is removed. For older cards, the Cardsaver alone is good enough.

  • Thanks, again. I am sending off 6 vintage cards. I did not use a penny sleeve with these cards. I am looking forward to getting them back soon.
