    I sent him an e-mail asking if he knew it was a fake... and a really bad one at that. He said it was given to him and he didn't know, and he thanked me for the information. Now let's see what he does with the insight.
    When in doubt, don't.

    Some fake dollars routinely bring $50-200 each, depending on the quality or age of the counterfeit. At $18 this may actually be a good deal!

    This is a recently made fake from China. It is poor quality too. Notice they used the reverse for a Seated dollar!!!

    The obverse isn't even close to looking like a real1796 and the reverse is from a 1840-1860 dollar.......unfortunately, many of the fake bust $1 are more difficult to identify as fakes!
