Set registry pop count inaccurate?

I've been studying the #1 and #2 sets above mine, and have noticed that they each have registered the same 9 cards that, according to PSA's "Pop" and "Pop Higher" totals, are the only existing copies:

#1 Set
#2 Set

If you look at the following cards:

#16 Dalglish
#17 Regis
#26 Williams
#32 Broome
#34 Botham
#37 Richards
#42 Korbut
#43 Tourischeva
#45 Wade

You'll notice that each of them has Grade/Pop/Pop Higher of 10/1/1. How is this possible?

  • I believe that the #2 set you list (Bob's 1979 Heroes) is a retired set (i.e., not current anymore). If you go back to the main 1979 Venorlandus Ltd page and look in the current sets, Bob's is not there. Looks like Bob sold his cards to DSVice Sport Heroes.

  • Ah, that makes sense. I didn't realize you could retire a set like that. I just assumed that PSA's database would not allow a cert # to be added to more than one set no matter what.
