ANACS Submission Torn Into to Provide BETTER Photos!

braddickbraddick Posts: 23,963 ✭✭✭✭✭
Okay... okay... I ripped open the envelope, took out the Morgans, and re-photographed them! In reference to an earlier thread (Dealers and old graysheets...) I now provide these photos!

(TDN: Does the color on the 1884 look "better" now?!)

And, just for good measure, here are a couple of others in the same submission batch...

The 1880-S is nice. I love the fingerprint. Are you sure it didn't go through PCGS once in it's life?
  • can't the fingerprint be removed gently? It is a knockout coin..

I'm thinking about it. You know what? They barely show up on the coin but sure blast out on the photo.

Let me go re-open the package and do what it is I can do...

    Results soon...

My results didn't help much, but then again, I am extra careful with mirrors. Maybe too careful. Possibly NCS, down the road... as it is I'll still send it to ANACS and see what they say...

  • Thanks for the photo update. You get 12 full You Suck awards for buy of the week! I love the 80-S and the old bag toning on the 1883 and 1884 (O's ?) and for about $30 each you just can't go wrong! image

  • Im not to smart on these things but I don't think that those are fingerprints on the 80-S? They look more like they came from the bank sack. I think I've heard it called "textile toning?"

Looks like tactile toning to me. Nice buys.

Cool! Maybe that's why a gingerly attempt to remove them didn't really work. Under strong magnification they appear to be 'in' the coin and not on top of the mirrors. Perhaps ANACS will not penalize me too strongly.

Mr. Braddick, I'm not sure I've been here long enough to issue a you suck, but since you do...Way to go. Dealers have morgan books? Quick phone call...yep, the closest one, who does not own a computer and uses grey sheet all the time, is open, and has a morgan book...I'll be back
