Victorian Shillings by die varities?

Does anyone collect these by die varieties? If so, would an 1868 shilling with a 1 have a premium?

    You mean by Die Number?

If so probably no premium. There's probably alot of 1's out there, the highest numbers are the ones to watch out for obvious reasons.

There are die number collectors out there. They will typically collect an example in any readable condition owing to the expense.

I am not aware of any premium on a specific die number, unless it helps to identify some other rarity, such as the "DRITANNIAR" error on the 1878 sixpence.

I once thought about collecting by Die Number myself. I didn't do it in the end...
