Portugal 1899 1000R KM-540 NGC AU55
Ionian Islands 1862 1L KM-34 NGC MS64 BN
Italy 1928R 1L KM-62 NGC AU58 (soooooo close to MS63)
Italy 1927R 5L NGC MS64 coins have bluish tone.
Italy 1916 2L NGC MS63
Vatican 1931 50c NGC MS65
Canada 1910 1c NGC MS61 BN

One coin came back BBed as being 'bent'. ???????????? Not that I can see.

Happy with some grades, not others. I thought the 1928 Italian was Unc.
The 1910 Canadian 1c I expected to grade MS63.
The Ionian coins could have made RB. NGC is really getting tough with the RB designation.

I make more grading mistakes (compared to NGC) with older copper than any other coins. Somtimes they will bump the grade a point rather than give out the designation.

BTW, I have a lovely 1926 Italian 10c in AU55 in case you're thinking of putting together a nice choice AU set.image

That took effect on October 1st. Since they didn't give much notice it was quite hectic to get everything on hand in before the rates went up.

comments: as you very well know, NGC has a tradition of including a BBed coin with every submission, a recent one, but a tradition nevertheless. image

Ain't that the truth. It seems like I get one, and only one, BB with every submission now. The bagged coin is an 1874A Greece 20L.

interesting results... I really like many of the coins issued by the Vatican during that time frame.

Experience the World through Numismatics...it's more than you can imagine.

Hey, I don't have a Krause in hand, but isn't this the one with the charioteer reverse? A nicely toned example of which (NGC 64) saw spirited bidding among forum members last year (now in the hands of cosmic)?

    Heh.

Overall how do you feel NGC grading has changed over the last 1-2 years Don?

Gotten more expensive. It went from $11/coin to $14/coin. Grading wise I don't think it have changed much over the last 1-2 years. May be just a little more conservative. They do seem to call more coins BN now. Coins that probably would have been RB a few years ago.
