Hi all,
Here's a 5cent piece that I need help in grading. Would it be worth submitting? Thanx in advance.

your coin grades good or very good, and is a very pleasant coin as it is...

I do not see any benefit of buying an expensive grading opinion holder for it.

instead, enjoy it for what it is!

here's my 1867 nickel. it's "raw" (uncertified) too!

  • A lot of history goes with that nickel, Randy. A nice original circulated coin like that looks a lot better in the hand than in a piece of plastic!

i would expect the corrosion on that nickel would prevent certification.

Coin looks Vg at best and is worth about 13.00. IMO, not worth submitting to a TPG. Also, as Dorkkarl stated, the darkness indicates to me that it may contain light porosity?
  • Thank you all. I am learning heaps in this forum. Back in the bag it goes image
