Do the Yankees Go Downhill from here?

I think that their reign has ended for the foreseeable future although much money will be wasted by George as he tries to stem off the inevitable.

They have a lot of dead weight that is not going anywhere, and no depth in the minor league system. It's entirely possible they finish in 3rd (or worse) the next few years and Boston becomes the dominant team in the division.

They will be ready next season--no problem. They will get some new pitchers and their sluggers are fine they way they are.

  • I hate the Yanks. But they have all the money. They'll just raid the down market teams in the off season and bring in some new stars, Plus add what they lack during next season. With twice the income of any other team, and an owner who's willing to spend, the Yankess will always have a fantasy team. Just watch the Pittsburghs and Milwaukees line up to deal their players to NY so they can stay in budget. Baseball will kill itself unless the moron owners see the need for reform.
  • The Yanks of 2000+ will not be like
    the Yanks of 1995-1999.

On the one hand they have spent their
money much better than the Mets.
Look at all the money the Mets have wasted over
    the last ten years.

On the other hand, they are not like the Braves with
all that young talent at their disposal.

I think the Yanks will be competitive only because
they can sign big dollar players. Even then it's a crap shoot.
All players must be clicking on all cylinders to make it happen.
    That isn't always easy.

The Yankees have too much of a good team to just fall apart.

They will find some pitching. Their postion players are set. However, I do think its time to stick in a few farm hands. Do the Yankees have any young guy that they can bring up?

Their position players are set? They will magically find some pitching? Where?

The yankees are in serious trouble...and a third place in the AL east next year isn't out of the question.

  • Hmm., lets see, whats the Yankee's problem? I know, they have all those high buck players that can't get along with anybody else so there's no chemistry. Alex Rodriguez is the Karl Malone of baseball, destined to not get a ring!
Culpepper to ?, only God knows at this point!
