I was wondering about that myself - the TONING that is.
But it seems everyone is missing the obvious - staring you in the face obvious C'mon folks - surely somebody can see this
<< <i>Hmmmm - nobody noticed something just a little odd about this coin ? >>
Is this a contest? Are you giving the coin away already?
It's really nice, but I'm not familiar with them so I'm not sure what you might be referring to.. here's what I notice:
Looks like doubling on the bottom of Louie's nose and the top right fleur (of the shield)?
Is that a crack left of the laurel's stems?
What's the distortion at 1200 on obverse rim/legend?
What are the flecks in the fields, esp at 0500OBV and 0700REV (looks like luster or dust to me, but I dunno)?
Great detail on the chest/shoulder! I like the animal face on the breastplate.
I should say I'm not being critical here--it's an awesome coin--just analytical So what are you talking about?
My wantlist & references
I had noticed it was bigger but i just kinda figured it was just the way they were. This is before i read about the long discussion you had with Ian on Cointalk about it. Which to be honest went over my head since i do not know anything about the area but i did get the gist of it.
Didn't look overstruck to me neither.
