I've heard of '82-NMM's for for $2,500 in high grade. Looks like only a ten fold increase in ten years. I guess the party's over.

The tabloids will report that Cameron has been served with divorce papers filed by his wife, of 1 year, Mary Kate Olsen citing irrreconcilable differences stemming from Cameron dating his sister in law on the side. He has announced he will be challenging the validity of the pre nup he signed in an attempt to obtain a divorce settlement that will allow him to fund his continuing quest to acquire every sample slab in existence.

The Proof and Mint sets will be HUGE:

The statehood (5 a year) quarter series will be extended with state flowers or state birds.
The dollar first lady or US President's wife series will have 5 different dollars a year.
Nickels will be at 2 a year.
Cents and halves will be proof and mint set only and will have 5 different designs each a year.

The ANA Solves its Perennial Financial Problems with the Sale of Geritol.

You may want to double check your math and Red Books on this one too. There were
very few moderns in 1974 and prices on the pop tops would have to fall nearly to face
value for your prediction to come true. It's possible that there are some other consider-
ation you may want to double check also; it seems unlikely that all the millions of peo-
ple who saved 1974 dimes might not decide to sell them all at once. In fact, unless the
dimes go up in value they can't drop lower than the '74 Red Book since they're at essen-
    tially the same price today.

It's even possible that instead of millions of people with 1974 dimes, there are millions of
reasons given for avoiding 1974 dimes. Do the math.

    News bulletin January 22, 2014:

US Mint official admitted today in a news conference that the Kennedy Half Dollar design had been fraudulently modified numerous times over the past 20 years to alter the appearance of Presdient John F Kennedy to that of the likeness of his brother, Senator Ted Kennedy.

Once such discovery was made by US Mint fraud inspectors, senior officials at the US Mint immediately issued a press release that the original design created in 1964 by Gilroy Roberts would be readied in time for issuance of 2014 halves in memory of the original likeness of JFK.

Lincoln cents are 105 years old and there is debate as to whether to finally discontinue the denomination.

Jefferson's visage on the nickel is 76 years old.

Roosevelt graces the face of the dime again, as has been the case since 1946.

Washington's face on the quarter is 82 years old.

Kennedy is on the half for the 51st year, having been struck only for mint sets and proof sets for the last seven years.

In other words, while the specific design may change in the next decade, politics will still prevent these dead presidents from being retired from our coinage.
  • Scanning and software will have been developed so there is finally universal agreement on grading and a data base will be developed so coins cracked out and resubmitted will be graded identically time after time (similar to face recognition programs that identify individuals). Each coin could be recognized as a "unique individual" whenever and wherever it surfaced. This would finally bring stability to "the grading game".

  • Two years after succeeding 2-term President John F. Kerry, President Edwards signs the historic bill in Paris that officially makes the Euro the official currency of the United States. This marks the conclusion of former President Kerry's Global Plan.

In other news, the EU president, with the support of President Edwards, passed a law making it unlawful for Americans to own monetary gold or monetary silver.

In sports, the New York Yankees win their 35th World Series Title, prompting the EU Sports Committee to discuss disbanding the team for the good of the game. In Boston, a parade is scheduled in Kenmore Square to commemorate the 10th anniversary of the Red Sox last World Championship. Ex-President and former Massachusetts Senator John F. Kerry will preside as Grand Marshall.
