1921 Peace Dollar - Die crack?

This looks to me like a die crack on this 1921 Peace Dollar. Do you think so?

Is this any known die variety that makes any difference (i.e. worth anything)? Thanks.

I'd like to see a higher resolution image. Could be a die chip though it would appear to be a crack at first glance.

  • I've held that coin.... It's a mark from another coin...... The funny thing is he told me it was a die crack when I bought it from him a few weeks ago..... loser.....

The coin is very blast and nice and that mark is actually hard to see.......
  • Thanks for the reply. It does look raised to me in that pic. I guess pictures can be deceiving.

It is for sale on ebay in PCGS MS63. I would like a high relief Peace dollar in that grade, but probably will wait until after the new year.

  • That's a wingless Hummingbird! Very rare. That particular variety of hummingbird is very hard to live with and after they die, it seems they suddenly show up on silver dollars.
