Do you have any advice for new/young dealers?

David,

As one of the most prominent people in the hobby today, I was wondering what advice you might have for new or young dealers?

Thanks,
Michael

    Hi Michael,

My best advice would be to go for it!

This is a good market...get out there and buy some coins and try to make a little money.

    Other things that can help...

    1. Go to coin auctions. You can sit and look at all the coins in an auction for free. Then calculate what you would pay for the coins...then go to the auction and see what they actually bring. Pay attention to what the dealers buy and how much they pay.

    2. Try to find a niche...a type of coin...or certain area you really like. Learn all you can about that area...buy and sell some coins in that area. DO NOT STRAY FROM YOUR AREA.

    3. Look at a lot of PCGS graded coins (maybe at auction. Cover the grade and see if your grade agrees with the PCGS grade.

    4. Go to coin shows and watch and listen.

    HAVE FUN!

    David
