US Mint Inventory @ Retail Locations - Question

Have any of you ever found inventory that is SOLD OUT on the US Mint website in their retail stores? I live close to DC and am wondering if the store has my State Silver sets in their vault. I'm thinking that just because it's not in the catalog vaults it could be in the retail's. Of course I'll call first, just wondering if any of you are in the know?

I don't know, but it's logical there could still be inventory at the retail outlets.

If it's not too old of an issue it could be in the retail stores.

The retail stores (specifically the one in DC I heard about) is as bad as the Mint about cherrypicking and returning sets - except at the stores you can go through them there

The one in the station in D.C. had the 1999 Susie B sets last year....

There are no Mint "retail stores;" there is just the Mint kiosk at Union Station in DC. It may or may not have the material which is out-of-stock on the Mint web site. I purchased my 2004 silver proof set there when the web site said they were temporarily out-of-stock; however, I couldn't get the 2004 mint set.
