2001 Bowman Chrome Boxes on Ebay - Pujols

There are always several 2001 Bowman Chrome baseball boxes up on Ebay and invariably they include Pujols in the description to market the box. In that this was a 2001 product and Pujols was a redemption card, is there any chance of sending the redemption card into Topps to get the card? I would think it is well past the deadline.

Thanks
Steve

Topps would never disclose that info nor would they honor your expired redemption. These boxes are
    essentially worthless.

You also must have to factor in who many Pujols rookie cards go out the backdoor. Your guess is as good
    as mine.

Exactly! There may have only been 300 copies redeemed before the deadline, but anyone that thinks that Topps actually destroyed the remaining 200 UNREDEEMED copies, needs to get there head checked. Thos 200 copies are out on the market floor. No doubt about it.

Considering that I have seen about 4-5 different "5/500" versions, it may be safe to say that there is actually 1,500+ of these rookies produced...

It is the same with any of the companies. If they produce the cards, they make it into the mainstream. So if a player had 50 cards produced, and it was a redemption only RC, but only 10 cards were actually redeemed before the deadline, do you really think that only those 10 cards will be on the market? That is exactly why none of these companies release how many cards were redeemed once the expiration passes. If they did, they would not be able to take them out the back door, or print more of them....

7 MVP awards, the single season HR record, career walks record, single season walks record, 700HR/500SB, and two batting titles near 40 years old. How can one argue that those aren't stats of the greatest to ever play the game??? All this and there is still more to come!!!! Bonds:2005 NL MVP. Or are you going to doubt him again?

100% correct. There is no doubt that all of those cards made their way to the market, either via the front door, or the back door. Seeing as they are hand numbered, who is to say there aren't a few thousand of them? The sheer number of 5/500 cards that exist removes all credibility from the serial numbering of this issue.

  • Now dont be too pessimistic - look at the bright side: you too might be able to pull a 5/500 card out of the box, even if your not supposed to be able to.

    Now, where's my blue sharpie?
I am looking for Nolan Ryan cards, esp. OPC and rare oddball issues, graded or not. Also I need quite a few 1956 Topps, PSA 6 or higher

    Current Sets in Progress:
1956 Topps Master Set PSA 6 or better
    1978 Topps PSA 9 or 10
    1981 Donruss Golf PSA 9 or 10
    1989 Upper Deck PSA 9 or 10
    Nolan Ryan Master Set
    Pete Rose Master Set

Roach - Be a Player has publicly released the number redeemed on redemption hockey rookie (or draft pick) cards.

BAP is not your average card company, They have their niche and that is all they need, people stick with them
because they are honest. Their heads of the company actually know about what cards they put out
unlike guys like Art Shorin, who don't know anything about the cards that they put out.

So far here are the numbers:

    Responses from BGS: 0
    Responses from PSA: 0
    Responses from Topps: 0
Responses from seller of BGS: 2
Responses from seller of PSA: 2
