I would have to with a no on whether they're worth submitting. Far too many hits on the obverses in the prime focal areas.

Definitely a little baggy. I think they're all FBL except maybe the third because of the reed marks on the lines.

The first one is the cleanest, probably 64FBL...not worth it.

The last is more valuable in FBL, but probably wouldn't grade higher than 62FBL...not worth it.

personally i wouldnt have them slabbed due to lack of eye appeal
maybe if they were curated but even then, too many hits keep them from
    high grade.

Nice looking coins that appear to be out of original double mint sets. I think the first coin is MS65FBL and maybe even a 66, second coin looks 64-65 FBL, the last two look MS64FBL. mike image
  • The 48 might be worth a shot....PM a link to Lucy or one of the other Frankie experts for their opinion.

    Smittys,

Unless you are going to get a bargain price for encapsulation, or you are one of those who prefers encapsulation primarily for environmental protection, I think you would be wasting money encapsulating those coins, and particularly the last 3.

If you didn't know, most '48Ps are very well struck or fully struck, an unless you get a grade of 66, you might consider it an average coin, relatively speaking.

The other coins are a bit baggy to justify the slabbing expense. Then again maybe the bagmarks are exaggerated in the large image.

Of course, this is only my opinion, but, now you have it. image

Ms 62 to 64, isn't toning like this ok?

Unless you can find somebody dumber than me to buy them, I don't think it would be worth paying for slabbing.

I would pick the 1948-P as the best condition out of the lot, looks like a high end MS65FBL. If it has great luster in hand I would submit....otherwise Don't submit.
