I couldn't believe the run of nice Barbers in a 3 page coin world spread. Shizaam! Barber quarters and halves, all the tough dates, in MS66-69. Just plain wild. And most look like toners. And over there are half a dozen NGC PF69 Barber quarters. Now we now where all the monster superb Barbers have been going. There should be pandemonium when this stuff goes on the block.

Can't wait to see the images on-line and eventually the catalog. Should be a blockbuster sale and will be a barometer for the high-end Barber material. A few coins from this sale are definitely on my radar screen. This will be followed by the Barber half showdown at the Feb. Long Beach show (Dr. Duckor, Dale Friend, and me).

There hasn't been a sale of this magnitude covering all three denominations of barber coins (no liberty nickels designed by Barber are in the sale to my knowledge) in gem or better, all dates and mints, business strike and proofs, ever to my knowledge. The closest would be the Eliasberg collectioin for all three denominations but without business strike Philadelphia isssues. The complete gem set of Dr. Thaine Price of barber halves included all business and proof strikes, but only the half dollars.

It looks like there will be some incredibly rare coins being offered. The images of the coins are very grainy in the Coin World issue of last Tuesday. But, from what I can see, there are some real knock-outs.

How long has John been collecting Barbers ?

I think its safe to say that we're all looking forward to see these coins posted on Heritage's web site.
