Safety of liner material used for coins

Awkwardly worded title-sorry.
I have some specialty made plastic containers-1/2"x 12"x12" perfect for displaying coins. These plastic containers were made for the drug industry to grow cultures in are are appearently totally non-reactive but what about the liner I want to use for these? Felt, craft foamsheets (which are great as they are grippy), or any other material. Is there something anyone can recommend?

If preservation for long term storage is desired, I would peruse this site.
