  • Sheesh that is one of the crummiest examples I have seen.
They used to have some pretty good ones up there on Ebay.

Gee, I wouldn't want it- it looks cleaned and therefore probably would not slab. Plus it's damaged, too- he stamped his name on both sides.

The most popular coin in numismatics. Seller from Shangai, China. Lots and lots of negative feedback. Call me crazy, but I got a gut feeling on this guy...I think I might go for it. I have been hoping to someday cherrypick an 1804 Silver dollar, and it looks like the coin Gods just might be smiling on me this night.

  • I've just never understood who would be rich enough to own one of the origionals, but still be motivated to let someone make a cast copy. Doesn't follow, so I wonder if the Chinese do this off just a photo of an 1804. Very clever if they can do it.

ARCO - Never fear - if you get snipped on the one for $100, there's always this back up:

    Another ONE!
Collecting eye-appealing Proof and MS Indian Head Cents, 1858 Flying Eagle and IHC patterns and beautiful toned coins.

  • I got a severe burning from two Chinese sellers with similar marginal feedback. They bluffed me out till it was too late to post negetive and threatened to post negetive about me if I complained. My so called "hand-carved snuff box made of the coral" BAH I have a picture of that burning, and I didnt know Coral was flammable. I wouldnt trust a Chinese seller with marginal feedback farther than I could throw him (or her). They just change names and spoof some feedback and ........ well you know the rest. Not predjuiced, just bad experience. They got my friend too on a Yuan Bao. Junk made of 4% silver-claimed 95%

It amazes me that this dealer continually sells mostly all fake coins and reproduced artifacts claiming them to be old items and seems to get away with it.

Many of the coins have obvious mis-matched muled obverses and reverses and many are dated when there is no known production.

My only guess is that these coins are purchased by newbies who think they are putting one over on a foreign sellers ignorance when in fact they are the ones who are getting rammed and scammed.
A thing of beauty is a joy for ever
