1967 SMS MS66DCAM Jefferson

I am purchasing this coin from Gold Rush Numismatics in San Francisco. Have any of you purchased from them before. And what do you think is a reasonable price for the coin. I am putting this in my registry set and I have sent off the check to this dealer. Just wondering what you all think of the dealer and what would you pay for this coin.

Thanks.

Thanks for the replies, I am also looking for a DCAM 1971 no S. I just purchased this coin on Teletrade, but want one in DCAM. Anyone out there with one for sale.

Okay... get ready for your checkbook to melt... a 1971 PCGS PF69DCAM No S sold for $4485 this year with a total pop of 3. At least two are currently in Registry Sets... I haven't seen a 67DCAM or 68 DCAM sold this year...

    A 67DCAM sold in 2003 for $975 and a 68DCAM sold in 2003 for $1450.

There have been a number of raw coins selling on Ebay, or trying to be sold (most raw coins didn't get bids)... one looked really DCAM, I think, but I still haven't figured out why someone wouldn't slab out a coin like that.

Good luck in finding one! When you do, I'll take your 68CAM if you don't want it anymore!image

Hey FullStepJeffs, thanks for the tip on the auction. Wow, could be a dcam or just a great picture. Got a big decision to make today, before someone else scoops it up.

Glad I could help... and I've seen that coin for a while now... that was one of the non-graded coins I was talking about... discuss this topic amongst the guru's... why would someone with this type of coin, wanting this kind of money and waste this kind of time without getting the coin graded?

My guess? Because the reverse isn't cameo (notice it isn't pictured) and the seller thinks he can get more money from someone bidding on a dream than on a PCGS non-CAM coin. The description hints at this, too: "the RARE No S nickel has a heavy frosted DEEP CAMEO obverse and a light cameo reverse."

Okay, thanks for all of the feedback. I just purchased the set from Mojo. I have bought from him in the past and have been very satisfied with their coins. I hope this one is a DCAM reverse. I am planning on sending this Jefferson in, in hopes of a DCAM. I will keep you all updated.
