    Good-4
    When in doubt, don't.

The obverse is VG8 and the reverse is AG3 with moderately pronounced scratches. Some would therefore grade as the worst, AG3, or average it out, G4.

I would say Good-4 as well, but probably would not lose a whole lot of sleep over it. This is a great coin for an old Whitman folder, where all you see is the obverse.

The obverse counts as two thirds of the grade.G 4 is my answer

For these boards it grades VG/AG or net G4. On Ebay that is a lock F/VF with a $32.99 start price and $6.99 shipping! image

I agree with all of the above opinions. Obverse has VG details, reverse is a weak Good (since full rims are not absolutely necessary for G-4). I'd say this is one of the nicest Good Barber halves I've seen.

  • Technically, this coin would grade VG8, three letters of LIBERTY are visible, and that is how these Barbers are graded, by the text book anyway.

This seems to be rather common on Barber halves. The reverse wears more than the obverse. I have almost finished a VG-F collection of Barber halves. I have seen so many halves with a nice obverse that could grade VG, but when I flip it over it is just an AG. This is one I would reject in a second. No, technically, this coin would not grade VG8. If you look at the ANA grading standards, they also have a standard for the reverse as well! With the heavy scratches, it is a damaged coin with an AG reverse.
