I've always wanted one ever since i was a young child. The rarity appeals (niot as rare as the other norman kings like William II and some Henry I and William I issues i'll grant you that).
But the period caught my imagination from a young age, Civil Wars, King versus "Queen" as yet unannointed (and never was) and thus not actually the Queen and thus was forever referred to as Empress, as she had been married to Emperor Henry V of Germany.
The coinage itself is very interesting because of all the varieties and the irregularity of the issues. What was PERERIC/M all about? Much debate still over that issue... then we have nobles issuing thier own coinage and of course Bishop Henry (of Winchester?) issuing his, if it was Henry of Winchester then it was Stephen's younger brother.
Then there's Matilda and Earl Robert, and the future Henry II as Count of Anjou.
I see i've got a lot of work to do, some of those are absolutely beutiful, not a flat patch at all on the fifth one down!!
Wicked!
I need to find one of the Second one down too there's a type i need!
A lotta lotta work to do...
