I was planning on doing all three sports from 1969 in psa 8 , with baseball last. I am 70% complete in football and was going to move on to basketball. I noticed quite a few baseball psa 8's going for under $10 and some under $8. That seamed to me to be too low for me not to get as many as I can and start the set now. I need help with the nuances of it. I am clueless. I know the under $10 cards will not last long. Also I was woundering about the psa 7's. Are they worth getting.

The majority of the 1969 PSA 8s sell at or below SMR. High population common 8s can sell from $6 to $10. Low population 8s can sell from $50 to $300. High population 9s generally sell between $10 and $15 and can serve to boost up the GPA of a set.
Commons in 7 can be had for under grading but they actually do not appear on eBay as much as you might think. For the average common, the ratio of 8s to 7s is approximately 5:1. For the cards that do not appear that often in 8, such as #110 Mike Shannon, 7s usually sell in the $25 to $50 range.
I am not familiar with other years but for 1969 I can tell you that the price for stars (and to a lesser extent commons), in either grade, varies greatly. A well centered 7 will sell for a premium over a 7 that has superior corners but inferior centering. The centering on 8 can vary as well and the same holds true for them as well.
The 1969 set collectors are fairly well represented on these boards and, for the most part, help each other out as much as possible.
