My son is wondering about the state quarters

He's got a collection going and is wondering when the remaining quarters for 2004 will come out. Anyone know? We sure would appreciate the info. Thanks,

Jack

As I understand it, they are released every 10 weeks so the final one for 2004 should be out very soon.

  • O'k, thanks. I guess that means we have to keep searching. He's missing Florida and Iowa, right now. Thanks again,

    Jack
  • It's not done yet, Wisconsin hasn't been released yet. Iowa was released a week or two ago.

  • You know best but why not buy him a few silvers to get him started in the rarer stuff. Bowers pointed out in recent Coin World that childhood collecting is often temporarily stopped, but like a rule of nature, oneday always returns.

Florida quarters are very common here. I have seen one Iowa.

The others I have not seen.

Let me know if you still can't find those after you've searced a bit. I think I set the Iowa aside in the change holder in my van, since it was the first I'd gotten. I got a Florida in change yesterday.

Florida was released earlier in the year. He should find that in circulation pretty easily--just keep watching the change. Iowa was released 9-10 weeks ago. Depending on what banks in your town ordered, they may not be there yet. But, still shouldn't be too long. Wisconsin release date is about now (plus or minus a week as I don't recall exactly). Unless he's real lucky, I wouldn't expect he'd find one in change until around Christmas or so.

  • I trade a few rolls with a couple of Western forum members and got rolls of Iowa D mints in the mail today. They were really slow getting to certain parts of the Pacific Northwest. They should evenually start showing up in circulation.image

  • Thanks so much for all the replies, folks. He likes the thrill of the chase and searches through my change jar and then places them into his quarter board. As usual, this is the place to come for info.

    Thanks again,
