eBay finally has a little competition...

Overstock.com now offers online auctions similar to eBay except the selling fees (listing and final value) are much lower than eBay. Only 600 or so coins currently listed but the site shows real potential. Worth checking out in my opinion.

I've just been discovering the wonders of that site.. looking for gifts for Christmas and books, especially books. I've found things there for a third less than Amazon!

Here's hoping their auction services take off too (and that they don't sell out before then)

I don't think Ebay or Yahoo are shaking in their boots just yet.

Currently there are 175,185 coin auctions on Ebay, 19,815 on Yahoo, 631 on Overstock; 41,188 world coin auctions on Ebay, 10,669 on Yahoo, 52 on Overstock; 268 Japanese coin auctions on Ebay, 12 on Yahoo, none on Overstock.

Another great site for books is Abebooks

They have A LOT of old coin auction catalogs and other coin related books.
