I am going to stop following the Yankees

until George gets that payroll up to $1 Billion. Come on George!

  • How do you feel about the Yankees future ?

    Their farm system is depleted.
George can buy whoever he wants.
If he keeps letting people like Andy Pettite leave,
he's not playing his cards right.

Will Yankee fans be talking about the curse of AROD
    in years to come ?

Probably not, but it all comes down to pitching.

The Sox would not even be in the playoffs without
getting Schilling and Foulke in the offseason.
  • Let it get as high as he wants, they will still choke. They might have owned the 1900's but they are the king iof choke now.

Maybe you should be an expos fan or something, I hear they are going to be good next season image
    Am I speaking Chinese?

The thing that is ironic is that Vasquez was the Red Sox's first choice but the Yankees got him so the Sox went after Schilling. I wish Boston got Vasquez.

What are the 2004 Twins, the Queen of Choke?

Gemmy - whah? Dissing "The George." Calm down. Need Willie Randolph as GM to fix it. Don't go turncoat on us now!

Heard a great analysis of why the teams in the past few years haven't been able to get the job done.

They have great players, but they aren't a great team. No amount of money can buy that team chemistry.

The yankees have been following a slippery slope for years...no farm system to speak of, trading all their talent for the win-it-now mentality...you can't keep up that pace for long before you just burn out....

Axtell - I am a Yanks supporter, and I finally agree with the point of view. I say "finally", because there is some home grown talent on the current team, but none on the horizon. Williams, Jeter, Posada and Rivera appear to be the end of the crop. They need someone strong in the organization that can recognize talent. I am not sure if Gene Micheals is still in charge of "Baseball Operations", but if so, he's gotta go as a yes man. I think Willie Randolph is the best "baseball guy" they have right now. He is in demand though.

Yeah, a team with home grown talent and a payroll 1/2 of the yankees are chokers.

    Moron.

  • The 1998-2000 Yankees had chemistry: Tino, Bernie, Posada, O'Neil, Brosius, Jeter, Girardi, Cone, Mariano, Knoblauch, etc. I will always regret the day they let Tino go.
