What do you guys think of this flyer I did for a local coin dealer?

It needs some color to show of the photos of those great coins. image And a website address so I can go look at them too.

Other than that its very cool.
  • I understand that this is not your decision Bill, but I think there's too much text in the flyer. Too much in general.

Other than that, I see that you found a nice spot to the right, for your collage of darkside coins. image

  • Too many shades of grey in the coin pictures and not enough clear definition of the designs. This may result in a blobby mess when it comes to print time. What format are you doing this in? What program are you using?
  • Kind of reminds me of those two-page spreads for the outfit that comes to town and sets up in a hotel for a week or so to buy everything from watches to coins to porcelain to silver to china to furniture to you-name-it.

    Very busy and cluttered looking.

    How will it be distributed?

I assume the digital graininess is just a result of compression to display here and that a full printed page comes out fairly sharp?

I lightened up some of the images and did a few other things to clean it up.

I think it looks just fine. It's supposed to advertise, not look pretty. I think it accomplishes that even if it is "cluttered." The only suggestion I would make it to change the store's name to a different font that stands out against all the other text. Or underline it, or italicize it, or box it... anything to make it look different than everything else.

Nice coins ... although I do think I spotted an Ike. imageimage

Overall, I'd say it's rather busy for a trifold. All those horizontal "blocks" make it a bit too hard-hitting. The montage of foreign coins is a good use of the vertical, which the other two pages could use some of. (Also, does "Buying Scrap Gold & Silver" have to be right next to those gorgeous world coins?image) It could do with a less eye-straining font and fewer different font sizes to boot. The store hours and directions are too small, for instance.

The general message I get is that Valley Coins is always buying ... and buying ... and buying -- not much selling except for supplies (after a moderately long list of which he adds "Too many supplies to name them all").
