1971 Bazooka Bench question

I know PSA is grading complete boxes now, but I assume they can't grade '71 Bazooka because the box is more than 10" long unfolded. I'll hand-cut the panel, unless someone suggests otherwise, because I do want to get it graded for the registry. No boxes are in the pop. report, and only 1 hand-cut Bench. That's not a full panel, though. Registry weight of 2. Hah.

  • hi john,

no, psa is not grading bazooka boxes.

GAI will grade them though, i know, won`t do your psa registry any good.

    see ya, john
  • Wow, I didnt know they did Milk Duds boxes. I just got one I might give a try.

Then again, I might have to wait to have a few tall boys before submitting.

Hey Lee. Nice Duds! I just sent one in with a bunch of other oddball Bench stuff under the 5-day special, so I should know early next week how mine did. I hope it's at least a 6 like yours.

Seems a shame to carve up the Bazooka, but I don't think PSA will ever have a holder with a 10-inch-deep interior! Wish me luck.

    John,

Maybe you should let Keith carve it up since he had so much luck...er, skill with his Ryan MLB Photostamp. I think he's had more practice trimming, er...hand cutting cards than he's letting on. image

Now, now. Let's not give a whole new meaning to "snipe" image
  • Im assuming you are talking about another Keith?

    Keith,

Yes, a different Keith. I was talking about Keith CON40 (master of hand cutting). image

Well, the carving is done. Hopefully PSA -- and Keith -- approves.

Guilty as charged! May as well tell you my friends call me "The Barber". Prior to trimming baseball cards, I had a reputation and skill for trimming (in no particular order) hedges, budgets, the fat, time, hair... hell, I even painted "trim" on houses! It was just a matter of time before I turned my technique to sportscards. image When I get bored with trimming, I am thinking of putting my skills into shaving! image

    John;

    The Barber approves! image

What instrument did you use for the operation? In my "tool kit" I keep Xacto knives, razor blades, scalpels, a serrated edge hunting knife (for the big jobs), a stilletto knife, scissors, pinking shears (for work on Deckles), nail clippers (good on MSA discs), and an electric razor.

Wow. Is that tool kit sold by Jodi-Mo Corp.?

I just used a lever-type paper cutter. I don't trust myself with scissors to cut a nice straight edge all the way along the border.

In fact, I don't trust myself with scissors, period.
