Hey RGL, what is the status of the Presidential Review on your 1955 DCAM Jefferson?

Inquiring minds want to know (we also are obsessed with learning the original grade and the grade after Presidential Review) since we live vicariously through the cherry picks of others.

Yep, still waiting ... it went PR-67 CAM by the graders ... no way. I'm hoping David agrees since they have been stupidly tight as of late... Same submission also saw a PR-68/69 DCAM 1962 Jeff go PR-68 CAM ...

10 more days have elapsed since I last inquired. I need a further update from you RGL. Any news on your presidential review? SanctionII.

    hey Randy

though they may/may not be very conservative right now, are you going to hold on for awhile before submitting anything else and will you hold onto what they "slam" for a softer time??

Sorry, I moved recently and things have been crazy ... David agreed with the graders that the coin is a PR-67 CAM ... in a pig's eye. (A wonderous 1962, heavily frosted, in the same submission only went PR-68 CAM'; the coin is a very real shot 69 DCAM.) They are being ridiculously tight. This coin is a DCAM all day, every day, and the better Jeff proof collectors, I am confident, like Al, Barry, Carl, Frank, et. al., would also call it a DCAM ... I was very excited about this coin, because I thought it represented a no-brains chance to upgrade my best Jeff registry set since upgrades now cost moon money unless you cherrypick raw. Very disappointing. it will be going back in when things are a little more settled/reasonable at Newport Beach. As for future submissions, I need to start buying a few coins again ... I have not bought a coin in nearly two months, the last being a sight-seen PCI PR-65 Type 2 Jeff for $89 that is at least that at PCGS, with a shot at 66 ...

Buy the coin ... not the slab. I even confess to once buying an ACG 1961 PR-69 DCAM Jeff for $7 ... went PR-69 CAM (22/0) at PCGS ...

RGL, thanks for the update. Sorry to hear about the results. My own humble opinion, after looking at the picture you posted of the coin, is that the coin should DCAM.

image RGL I agree with you! I've got 12 PCI coins in my collection that are just as good as any other TPG's! Lee
