There is an excellent article in the new Numismatic News about clad coins. (Paul Green 10-26-04 pg 24)
The author makes many very interesting points about where clads are, have been, and may be headed.
This is really a milepost look at the coins. It will be remembered for years because it marks an important
point in their evolution and is very timely. Even if you don't much care for the coins, you might want to
check it out.
I would take issue with at least one of his points though. He says that "If anything, they appear to be even
more scarce than some of their strongest supporters have suggested over the years." As one of their strong-
est supporters, I've long suggested that some of the varieties no longer exist at all in unc, and you can't get
scarcer than that!
