Did anyone else notice this towards the bottom of Accugrade's ad in the current (Nov1, p 30) Coin World?

Very strange...

There's not much to tell, other than the title line appearing in Accugrade's ad in Coin World. Seems a little odd, considering the animosity between the two parties.

I never know when I'm going to receive mine. Sometimes I receive two consecutive issues on the same day.
  • veeeeeery interesting
  • I'm sure Alan Hager will get a chance in court to answer what his intentions were in including that personal information in his ad.

At least I'm not the only one. I have received the previous weeks' issue before the current one.

  • I have not received my copy of CW the past few weeks. However, I just checked my online version of the 11/1 issue and I saw the ad.

Very strange. Perhaps a reference to the lawsuit that they think they may win? Just being sarcastic perhaps? It is difficult to interpret what they are trying to say. Whoever writes their ad is borderline illiterate, imho. Their ads are always good for a chuckle.

  • Perhaps Eric settled?

......and they used the settlement money to pay for the ad????

Based on the number of ACG coins that I have seen on the market lately, I would guess that ACG could not justify the expense of a half page ad.

When pigs fly. Beyond that I have no comment. If someone would be kind enought to scan the ad and send it to me I would appreciate it.

  • Eric, what's your email address?

I wonder how ACG's lawyers feel about them doing something that stupid? And, if they knew and approved, I'd wonder what box of Cracker Jacks they pulled their law degree from.

And what does HRH say about PCGS licensing the slab from Hager? Didn't he say at some point there is no patent or licensing issue?

For the legal experts out there: what sort of ramifications could there be with acg putting this thank you in their advertisements??

  • It does seem strange.

I wonder, no ill will intended, if Eric's consistent "blasting" of all TPGs will somehow be used against him and the other defendants?

i think i see one for sure and possibly a second, but what's all the frothy frenzy about?? just another slow day on the forum?? let's all play Numismatic Peyton Place and forego educational discourse as we get down to business as usual at the NutRanch!!!!

don't any of you guys ever get tired of this crap??

    al h.image
  • Yeah, I do! Get tired of this crap that is! I agree with you Keets. We have the EBAY patrol. We have the AT patrol. Heck, who knows how many other patrols we have to save us from our own reckless acts. Losing money to a shyster and huckster will make you either quit buying coins, or learn how to buy them at a reasonable price. It will make you learn how to spot whizzing, cleaning, AT, thumbing, putty and all sorts of other crap done to coins in order to cheat people. I think it is perfectly OK to email ebay and let them know when there is an obvious scam going on. But to actually bid on a scammers auctions, that is going to far and will get you into trouble, because some of these folks are working way out of the box, and if they find out who you are and where you live, they might just burn your house, or kill you or something. No lawsuit for these boys. Then there is the lawsuit aspect of saying stuff thru the electronic media. Best thing to do is talk coins and keep out of the other stuff. JMHO. image

Some of us find it very interesting. No one is holding a gun to your head forcing you to read threads like this. Simple solution: If you're tired of it, don't read the thread.

The statement about "no major complaints for 20 years," guess it comes down to defining "major!"

As I recall, a number newbies and former lurkers have expressed their thanks to the forum for helping educate them. Sounds like this is worth a poll. Thread to follow...
  • tmot99tmot99 Posts: 5,238 ✭✭✭
Yes, I too am tired of the ebay scammers alerts and I simply avoid those threads. I don't think this thread is anything like those threads. This thread is about a company that "certifies" coins to be a certain grade that "may or may not" (to avoid litigation) be the grade they determine. This lawsuit is against our friends and fellow forum members and it is relevant and should be posted. Please keep us all informed as the lawsuit continues.

    And Thanks, Eric. image

Define "authenticity, major, complaint, business, consistant, expert, worth, special, thanks, and service" and maybe I can be better informed and contribute something meaningful to this thread.
Change that we can believe in is that change which is 90% silver.
