A Czech Friend of mine is making out big on this one ...

... a rare PARIS EXPOSITION 1900 bronze Medal Gymnastic Plaque. I don't know the value of this plaque, but Jiri isn't quite gutsy enough to start a $1000+ plaque off at $9.99. I just hope the winner doesn't get buyer's remorse. A very lovely plaque, though!

I wish buyers would do that for me.

  • The winner seems very determined, judging from his triple high bid. Nice plaque.

And while we're at it, do you know if this has any value?

Actually, Greek medals don't turn up all that often, so it's hard for me to estimate the likely price. The seller doesn't give any indication of its size either, so that's another useful piece of information that's absent. My best guess is that it will net no more than $48, but I really don't know enough to really say. The simple scarcity of Greek medals on eBay might result in some contested bidding. If I wanted it, I'd check the price near the end and set a snipe for the most I'd care to offer for it.
