My wife gave birth to our son Jason Joseph last night at 11:10.
8 pounds 4 ounces . 21 1/2 in. long
It's kind of funny because 4 years ago on Oct. 8th of 2000 my daughter was born during the Subway series and both the Doctor who delivered her and i are both Mets fans so we were both glued to the set that night while my wife was lying in the bed with a look of disbelief over where our attention was directed
Well 4 years later theres my wife and i , the same doctor from 4 years earlier and a t.v set with the biggest game of the year on. It was deja vu all over again

Playoffs draw us like moths to a flame. Hope your wife forgives you!

I bet this year you were much more satisfied with the results of the ALCS than the 2000 WS.
By the way, with the degree of difficulty in getting to the WS now (Division Series as well as LCS) I doubt if we will see another subway series in our lifetime. That was a real treat.
Did you ever see these subway sets?

I love them. In each set there is card with a real Subway token from the 1950's imbedded into it. Rumor is the Jeter and Piazza cards were short printed fetch much more. I bought a few sets and opened two and kept two sealed. I rarely see any more sealed sets on eBay.
My wife and I had our first - Jack - on 9/23. He has "witnessed" already Ichiro's hit and 4 straight BoSox wins (from the 8th inning on) with his dad ... the first three games he was asleep.
I will be sure that he wakes up for the last few innings of each WS game

Looking foward to doing all the great things dads do with their sons.
