What do numismatic publishers pay for articles on coins?

Here is a question I have never seen asked on this forum or anywhere else for that matter. Just what do the various coin publications (Coin World, Numismatic News, Coinage, etc.) actually pay the non-staff writers whose articles they print. I can't recall ever seeing anything about this. Does anyone have any factual info? I am asking because I have been doing some numismatic related writing and need to establish a "pecking order" for submitting the article(s). Needless to say, whichever publication pays the best gets the first crack at the articles.
