1911 Heroes of History (T68) Question

I am interested in starting the 1911 Heroes of History/Men of History (T68) set. I always loved the artwork of this set. Has anybody worked on this set? How difficult is it to find good quality raw cards? Are there any dealers that sell these cards? I would like to buy a large group and gradually build/upgrade the set? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks. David

  • Hi David,

I've been actively assembling this set for a couple of years - it's really a wonderful T-series issue. I'm on the road right now, but when I get home in a few days, I'll post more thoughts/experiences that hopefully can help with your efforts ...

    David,
T68 is a great set - IMHO, very tough to find hi quality cards.
This is one of those issues where I would raise my sights, pricewise, to get quality, but it's hard to find.
Good luck - I'm building this set in a raw VG condition and I love it.

  • Thanks to Carol for moving this over!! I'll be writing up some thoughts shortly based on my experiences collecting the set ...
  • I look forward to reading them. If anyone has any extra cards to sell, please let me know. Thanks. David

Great cards, but very tough in high grade. Here's a few I picked up on EBAY.

Always looking for 1957 Topps BB in PSA 9!
  • The Lincoln is a killer - I'm sending in 2 for grading that don't look much better than yours (I just want to get to 100% and then upgrade if possible). A PSA 6 Lincoln (highest graded to date) sold for $115 a while ago ... and I really wish I had gone all out on it. At the time, the highest grade cards were barely getting 1/2 that, but oh well, good old 20-20 hindsight!
