  • Gemmy, you've rivaled joestalin for most annoying poster the past 2 weeks, but you show class with a post like this.

    Cheers!

Yes, I am sure I am annoying at times but I take task when someone like axtel who is probably "Wet Behind the Ears" doesn't know me and how I have been rooted for the Yanks since the late 1960's.

It's funny..the surest sign of a bandwagon rider is someone who keeps trying to say over and over how long they've been a fan.

If you're a fan, you know it, and don't care what others think.

You continuing to say over and over 'since the 60s' well, sir, you are simply lying to yourself.

Thanks Gemmy10 for the post - it definitely shows class.

  • Yup - I'll join Gemmy in eating crow on this one - The Redsox outplayed the yanks - no question about it - they deserved the win. Congratulations!
  • Alright Gemmy, I'll pull off the dogs too. Like you said, if some fair-weather fans leave, all the better seats for you!

    gemmy;
Thanks... this one post almost makes up for the rest of the spew you've been posting all summer... I appreciate the kind words.
  • Gemmy,

I hate to say I told you so but ... I said it before and I'll say it again, I still don't know why George didn't go get some pitching before the deadline. One of my fellow co-workers is from Boston and I told him Sox in 6. I guess I missed it by a game. I wish Boston all the best (and I hope they can finally put this curse to rest). They're going to have their hands full with whoever comes out of the NL.

    Three Cheers for the Sox!

Kudos to Sox and their fans. image

During regular season, Sox take 11 of 19 from Yanks (58%).
During post season, take 4 of 7 (57%).
    Pretty darn consistent.

  • Congratulations to the Red Sox and their fans. That was great. My only regret is that I was not able to watch the whole game. I did see Damon's grand slam though. That was sweet.

I don't follow baseball that closesly, but I can't help but thinking how happy Red Sox fans are today. Even when they were down 0-3 in the series, there was something telling me that the Red Sox would come back. Those who have been long time fans truly deserve this. I hope they win the World Series.

Oh, and people in Boston, if the Red Sox win and the Patriots win another Super Bowl, please keep your city intact. I hope to visit there someday. image

  • Is the Red Sox goal to beat the Yankees or to win a World Series?

I think people around here are forgetting that.

The curse is not gone until they win the World Series. Plain and simple.

Weeks from now if they have lost the WS, none of this will mean anything.

You wanna bet? Beating the Yankees got the Yankee Playoff Monkey thing off of their backs. If they don't win the series the curse lives on though as these are two separate things.

Untrue. The Sox won by bestowing on the Yankees the most shameful item that will ALWAYS remain in the record books. The biggest choke of all time and it will NEVER be removed because it can only be equaled but never exceeded. I love it.

Wise men learn more from fools than fools learn from the wise.

We always want to beat the yankees, playoffs or not. Winning the world series will break the curse. After last years loss it would not have been the same if we won the World Series and had to play the Twins to get there. The yankees can say they came in first in the AL East, but we beat them them in the season series and scored more runs than them all year. In april im lookiing at what the Sox and yankees are doing. My co workers tell me "it early there 162 games to go" Out here in San Francisco they dont understand the Red Sox / yankee fans. Although i am convinceing a few of them that the Sox should be thier american league team.

I would love nothing better than to have Roger Clemons beat the Red Sox in Game 7 of the World Series. That would be sooooo sweet !!
    Go Astros !!!!

Don't worry about us Yankee fans. We'll get over

The Sox have won the AL pennant, topping the Yankees, a few times since 1918. Good luck the rest of the way.
