I give up! (eBay, sniping and PSA lots)

I don't buy much on eBay anymore but everyone once in a while, I get the urge to do so. I, like many others, saw all of those PSA lots that amunsoncubby had up tonight. So I decided to do it the smart way and set up six esnipe bids. Since the ones that I was interested in all ended within 15 minutes, I watched it all unfolded like the current Yankees nightmare. Here's how they went down.
I won (8) 1958 PSA7 by 17-cents. I don't know why I bidded on this, so I was glad when I got outsniped by $4 on the other lot of (11) 1958.
I really wanted the (8) 1961 stars and the (12) 1963 stars in PSA7 but I lost them by less than $2.50 and $5.00, respectively.
I wanted the (33) 1961 PSA8 lot more than any other but as expected, a snipe came in $10 more. I did win (4) 1961 PSA8 by $1. That doesn't make up for losing out on (33) of them.
I'm sure this is a nightly occurance for everyone here but I think I'll just stick with buying from Mick and Rob. At least they don't make me bray like a donkey chasing after a carrot on a stick.
But then again, if I had the guts to put in a $700 bid on those 61s, maybe the cards from Mile High and 19th Century Only don't look to bad. Hmmmm......

The winning bid is only one increment above the 2nd highest bid.
So it can look like you lost a card by only 5 bucks,
when the winning bidder's top bid may have been hundreds higher than yours.
Also, anytime I get outsniped,
I figure the winner must have overpayed for the card or else I'd have won it.
