Question about Cards cut from Sheets???

I was wondering why is it that PSA will not grade cards cut from sheets?? I do not see the rational
here!!?? I have some beautiful 71/72 OPC NHL cards that I bought Raw that were cut from sheets and
they are the same size as my graded PSA cards so exactly what is the big deal here? I know the
other grading companies like BGS will grade them..........I mean, the sheets that the cards are cut
from are authentic so what does it matter that we are using modern day technology to make a better
cut then back 30 years ago or so!!??

Does it matter to most collectors?

Help this novice understand!!!

Thanks

    Here's a thought :

How about if a card is a little oversized.
Would it then be okay to cut off a little on each side ?
You'd end up with mint corners and the card would still be of gradable size.
Most would agree that this example would fall under the category of trimming.

So you see, you've got to draw the line somewhere,
and PSA has decided that the line should be drawn at the factory.

    Beckett sees things differently.
Could be a reason for so many reports of trimmed cards showing up in Beckett holders.
