that when Philadelphia Phillies won the WS in 1980 it was their first WS in their 97 year history at the time.
I never believed in the curse (good story line) but always believed it was just plain old choking. Other teams have suffered too, and maybe if the Sox win it will give Cubbie fans some hope.
