FYI-Some had asked to post the grade of 2 Morgans I bought on eBay from a board member who is a dealer. These are in BOLD, not sure yet which of the '94-S's was his, but does it matter?
Well, not what I expected, I can only guess he didn't know their condition either....I'll give him the benefit of the doubt, but will post findings on my feedback.

  • Can you tell us what grades you expected? Would like to see how your guess' match up with PCGS image

Ouch. You got some decent grades, but those BB's hurt.

I'm disappointed enough with the BB ones, if I started placing grades on my submissions I would go NUTSimage

Honestly, I'm not going to say I know the difference between a 64 & 65.
Once I get them back I'll review & see if I disagree with any.
I am happy that a few of them will fill a whole in my set & 1 will upgrade the one I currently have.

Looks like a typical PCGS collector's club submission to me. PCGS can be very picky on what they consider to be "cleaned." You just have to submit a lot of coins until you learn what to send and what not to send. Expensive, yes, but educational.

As for the cleaned pieces, if you no longer want them, I would hope the dealer from whom you purchased the coins will make a fair buyback offer. I'd personally part with the cleaned pieces and replace them with new coins that are already in PCGS holders. Such problem pieces are often best returned to the previous owner, who may feel obligated to make things right with you. If you try to sell them through other channels, you will just be the latest guy to offer cleaned, uncertified Morgans for sale, and will most likely take a large loss.
