Absolutley one of the best sets in football. I love 1963. As far as difficulty, it rivals 1962 - very similair pop percentages. In fact until very recently, it had a lower 9 percentage than 62.
Looks like that set will have some very close races year after year.
This a great deisgn for cards and a fun and challenging year. Especially love those background variations. we may need a master set for these someday. Anyway, one nice set replacing a couple of other nice sets at the top. The guy who takes over has a good eye I believe for where to focus to win. There are some "lower hanging fruit" within the awards in vintage FB. The leaders have nice sets but do not have the "Shutout" GPA's that would keep a competitor away. 55 T AA's, 61 Nu-card, and 67 Philly come to mind. When you could buy the nicest cards available and still hope for second. There are a number of sets where the leaders have nice sets but do not have control of a majority of the highest end cards. 63T, 61T, 64T (yes, Wolfbear, your beloved 64T) and 66 Philly come to mind. These sets would make a good focus for a cost effective and effective assult on a certificate. I suspect that these are the sets where the last minute surprises are mostly likely to occur and no they will not be mine. At least not this year. Good Luck to all, Fuzz
Wanted: Bell Brands FB and BB, Chiefs regionals especially those ugly milk cards, Coke caps, Topps and Fleer inserts and test issues from the 60's. 1981 FB Rack pack w/ Jan Stenerud on top.
