Peace Dollar Die Crack

CladiatorCladiator Posts: 18,040 ✭✭✭✭✭
Just got a 1922 for my Dansco the other day and noticed a really long die crack on the obverse. It goes horizontally from the first "T" in "TRUST" through her neck, out the other side of her neck and terminates underneath the "GO" of "GOD". Anyone ever seen or heard of this before? Is there a VAM for it? Thanks.

Yes, I know...pics would be greatly helpful and I will post them when I get my camera back from my girl who took it to work image

  • Most likely a common every day crack. If there is extra metal, then you may have something..... Look to see if you can see something under the word "GOD". Also, is it one line or two?

    Peaceman:

No extra metal...and just one line. Looks like its just a normal everyday die crack eh? Also, I just noticed another die crack on the reverse from the last "U" in "PLURIBUS" through the top of the eagles head and beak continuing all the way into and through the "R" in "AMERICA".
