Just wondering what I should pay for one of these in really choice AU to Unc. The coin I am looking at is much nicer than th eone shown here, is well centered, but is raw.

    A HUGE hoard of these has been circulating through the ancient coin market over the last 2 years or so. You should be able to get a nice EF for $650.00 or less. A choice or superb EF should be doable for $800.00 or less.

    Most likely. There were literally PILES of these things at last year's NYINC. They are beautiful coins, but the market is glutted with them. I could have bought all I wanted for $550.00 each wholesale. They're just too hard to sell though.

  • That type of coin is pretty neat.
    That's the thing about ancients, you never know when someone will dig up a big pot full, and flood the market.
    They should have slowly released them into the market as a little trickle, such as one at a time.
    But they get greedy, and screw it all up.
    But it does make it easy to buy one when they are so reasonable.
