Pressure plate for emergency coins

Could someone tell me this is? It is described as a pressure plate for emergency coins. I am thinking about bidding on it because it looks cool but I'm not sure what it is.

There was a thread on this earlier... do a search, and you'll find some opinions there... if I remember, just about everyone thought it was a complete fake...

Fake or not, its still a very interesting item. Its too large to be a die, plus the engraving seems to be raised.

It'd be a nice addition to a Liberty Head nickel collection. I have no idea of its true worth.

Very interesting item that's hard to put a price on. Kinda like that San Francisco Mint sign that someone on here has or had as their sigline. Think the guy's name is Phoenix or something, haven't seen him post in a long time.

It looks to me to be some sort of a embossing stamp or die, for embossing the coin image on paper coasters.

ya, and it's also a little over an inch and a half in diameter, and over 1/4" thick.

i would guess it was made as a wax seal stamp. ?
