SGC to PSA crossover Advice Needed

i just got this card.

1. what do you think it would crossover to?
2. If it gets less than a 7, i would want to keep it in the SGc holder.. so would it be wise to submit it in the SGC holder with a minimum grade of 7?

thanks

    thats a beautiful card...

i would leave inside the holder just for fear of damaging the card.

i would say spend the 10 bucks and send it in the holder with a min grade. but the card looks nice...you might get lucky and pull an 8 if you sumit raw..then again it might come back a 5 ..or worse trimmed.

    good luck ...it looks great

Wow, that's a stunner. NM+ in a T206 is a thing of beauty. Not seeing the card up close, I'd say PSA would grade that 7 because they don't cut as much slack for the technology of the time, or the passing of extra decades, as SGC does. SGC is pretty respected and popular for pre-war material, more so than later stuff where PSA rules the roost. When it comes time to sell, SGC doesn't get discounted for this era like it does for post-war.

I would leave Mr. Chase where he is, unless you need to add him to a PSA registry. Then you'd have to take the half-point hit.
  • JMO, but dolan is giving you good advice.

That card looks beautiful in a SGC holder. No way would I want to cross that one over.

nice card, cracked out that card could possibly get bumped up a half grade too. that seems to be your dilemna, do u cross with a min grade? crack and resubmit? or leave it alone. I would leave it alone as just like JR mentioned SGC is pretty good when it comes to early vintage. good luck though in whatever you decide.
    Good for you.
  • i got the card for investment/set registry. if it were to cross over to a PSA 7, what do you think the market value would be? anything lower than a PSA7, i would just keep it in the SGC holder and resale it down the line.

Brian, just submit it as a crossover and mark the minimum grade of an 8.
If it doesn't meet the minimum grade; at least you still have it in the holder
and you got a second opinion plus the shipping cost to and from and whatever
it is they charge for the service. IMO, that's a beauty just the way it is.
