Seems like we (myself included) like to point out deceivers and scammers on eBay but I just ran across this 57 Campy on eBay. Read his honest assessment.
Would this be the classic case of buying the card and not the holder?
<< <i>Could someone buy these, then send them to PSA as overgraded? Would PSA give them the SMR difference in the correct grade and the current grade? >>
A well known dealer used to do this all the time in hopes of getting "undergraded " cards worth substantial money in higher graded holders!
live each day like it's your last but don't count on it!
Why doesn't the seller send these back to PSA to get the right grades? I can't see the creases on these cards, but I'm wondering if he's trying to make PSA look bad? Or maybe he thinks the cards will sell higher by making these comments. Interesting auctions.
How could they sell higher with those comments? I think that he has an axe to grind, or he is unloading cards he bought in a lot that were problems. i too have a few cards that are overgraded like that among the 500 or so that i own. im sure we all do.... with that said psa is still the best game in town imo.
Im guessing he is not expecting any more than the PSA 4 or 5 grade that he is telling everyone about.
If so, then there is no reason to go through the time, effort and $ to get them holdered exactly as he has already described them as nothing would be gained.
