The show took place today at St. Clements hall, in Toledo, Ohio. It is a Blue Ribbon local show, for every month. Well, I arrived at 11:00 and was out by about 11:20. My father doesn't like to stay at things for too long. It started at 9:30 and ends at 3:30. When I get my car, i'll be able to spend the entire day there. Anyways, the Glass City Coin Club was there, they had a drawing and raffle tickets for sale. They also had free wheat back cents for the kiddos. My dad won't take me to the meetings the club has, cause they're so late, but the lady said that any member would gladly pick me up, take me, and drop me off. So im going to find one that would be willing to take me for next months.
For the coins on the most part. I would have to say, there was a lot of common junk there. Not even popular junk neither. It was lacking the hundreds of slabbed coins, that one would think would be there. Most dealers had two or three slabbed coins tops, some none, some more than that. But mainly this time a lot of junk. There were however quite a few high end Morgan dollars I noticed. Another thing they were lacking was proof sets. They barely had any at all. My father picked up one from every year of the eighties. He now has 20 years of proof sets. While looking for capped bust half dimes, all I saw were brilliant uncirculated or very cleaned pieces in the $150+ range. Looking for Civil War tokens, I managed to find a few this time. I found the three that I saw last time, complete junk, and I found four new ones. They were so badly worn though, that it would have taken an hour just to identify them, plus they were storecards, which im not too knowledgable of yet. So I pasted on buying those. I also looked for a Cherrypickers Handbook. I found one, and it wasn't for sale. So I came home with nothing, absolutly nothing, first time I think i've ever done that. I now have an extra $50 for another high end Civil War token or the next show. If you have any questions about this show, ask away.

Scott - Congratulations! That's one of the most difficult things to do, and it's so important. So many people let money burn a hole in their pocket and then don't have the resources to buy the "right" coin when it finally comes their way.
Doggedly collecting coins of the Central American Republic.
