While I never needed a tape recording to know bonds was pumping himself full of the garbage, maybe this will bring the ignorant to the light.

It will probably never be prooven....and I don't care one way or another if he did or didn't take steriods. He will have to live with that and any potential physical repercussions. I dislike him not because of his "accomplishments", but because he has been an ingrate and thumbs his nose to both the fans and the institution that has provided him with his celebrity and millions.

    that about sums it up.

    fact is this PROVES nothing
accept that people will stop at nothing to ATTACK Barry.

Here is the Important things to take away from the story:

The paper does not identify the other voices on the recording or report who made the recording and the circumstances under which it was made.

Anderson's attorney, J. Tony Serra, said Friday that Anderson "categorically denies" providing Bonds with illegal substances.

After listening to portions of the recording, Serra said he couldn't identify the voice as Anderson's.

Bonds' attorney, Michael Rains, said "this is as simply another below-the-belt bash of Barry Bonds, which as I understand it is supposedly the product of what has to be an illegally recorded telephone conversation supposedly between Greg Anderson and an anonymous criminal."

Asked for comment Friday by the Chronicle about Bonds' alleged use of banned drugs, Rob Manfred, a Major League Baseball executive vice president, said, "... Whether or not he was using an undetectable performance-enhancing substance, I and the commissioner will have no comment."

In the recording, the person said to be Anderson says that not only is the substance provided Bonds undetectable, but that through contacts in the testing labs, he would know when Bonds was going to be tested, a claim that Manfred refuted.

During the 9-minute, 19-second recording, there are background conversations that can't be made out, and some of Anderson's comments are not audible, according to the Chronicle.

So a taped recording from his trainer saying he gave them to bonds, and Sheffield saying he was involved isn't enough?

Some people are simply too blind to see the truth.

Bonds records mean nothing. We all knew that, it just took some of us more time to accept that. So now
we have 3 potential cheaters heading for the hall..can we open another wing for these guys?

seems like a LOT of holes in that "evidence"...

    Innocent until PROVEN gulity.

  • Bonds is a disgrace to the sport.

  • << <i>Bonds is a disgrace to the sport. >>

    really?

There are so many people who have
    really disgraced sports and themselves
that it is hard to imagine anyone even worrying
about Bonds until some proof comes to light.

    People like
    OJ Simpson
    Daryl Strawberry
Joe Jackson (and other black sox)
Pete Rose (who has now admitted betting on the game)
    Ken Caminetti
    Ray Lewis
    Rae Carruth
    Mark Chmura
    Mark Ingram
    Jason Kidd
    Mike Tyson
    Tonya Harding
    Ben Johnson (Track)

hell, Sammy Sosa was caught red handed USING a corked bat
and you are all still trying to pin something on Barry.

    amazing.

and actually of Sports disgraces in history,
Bonds does not even make the LIST

I just wish he would run hard......i hate how he stands there with his arms raised, then slowly begins his trot. i remm in a big game he did that and the ball hit off the wall and he was held to a single. the guy can wind up with 800 homers for all i care.
    Good for you.

No, what's lame is your absolute refusal to accept that bonds is a CHEATER.

His trainer and lawyer of course are going to scream out that it's not his trainer on the tape. Of course they are going to say bonds never cheated.

What happens when this tape is verified to be his trainer and therefore implicates bonds as a steroids user? I think you are the last person in this country to actually think that bonds has been clean.

Heard on the radio something interesting. Pete Rose never affected the game when he got his 4000+ hits...but he's not in the hall of fame. Bonds' cheating *has* affected games, but the minute he is elligible he's going in the hall. How is this fair?

BKAH-Tell me, hypothetically, what you would do when evidence comes out that absolutely implicates Bonds as a cheater?

    that sounds like sour grapes
from a fan of a team he beat.

  • << <i>What happens when this tape is verified to be his trainer and therefore implicates bonds as a steroids user? >>

even IF the tape was the trainer (not proved that it is...)
then it would only show he said that. it would not look good,
but would not, as you say, "absolutely implicate Bonds as a cheater"

<< <i>Bonds' cheating *has* affected games, but the minute he is elligible he's going in the hall. How is this fair? >>

your refer to Bond's cheating effecting games...
What cheating? there is Nothing that as you say,
"absolutely implicates Bonds as a cheater"
Never has been. You can say it all you want, but
it does not make it so, or prove anything.

<< <i>BKAH-Tell me, hypothetically, what you would do when evidence comes out that absolutely implicates Bonds as a cheater? >>

I am still waiting like everyone else for just that.
I know that there have been hundreds of
bitter, jealous, angry little people like you
that have spent YEARS trying desperately to
find SOMETHING you could pin on him to say
he cheated. I mean Really, come on. It is kinda sad.
I would gladly say he cheated IF that were true.
But as you say, there is nothing at all that
"absolutely implicates Bonds as a cheater"

If he tested positive - then ok.
If he was caught with steroids - ok
If he was caught using or buying them - ok
or if he just came right out and admited it - ok

Till then, you might want to let this anger go.
It is not healthy to hate someone that much.
Stuff like this just makes me sad for you guys.
Sad that you are so jealous that you can't even
sit back and enjoy watching the best player to you
will ever live to see play the game.

Everyone who Bonds has surrounded himself with in his career has been implicated in the steroid fiasco. His close ties to BALCO, his personal trainer, friends and those he's trained with....ALL are heavily involved with steroids. People just DON'T get significantly better post 35. I don't care what you say about advanced training, nutrition, there is no defying age.

The fact that people continue to sit there and deny bonds is guilty reminds me of the people who (still) feel we were justified going into Iraq.
They can be hit about the head over and over with facts, and they still want to believe the myths.

Bonds is a cheater. He's cheated himself and the game of baseball. He's cheated the fans of baseball and the fans of his. He's thumbed his nose at the rules, at baseball as a whole...and people still embrace him as a hero.

Pete Rose bet on baseball, but his playing never affected the outcomes of games...and Pete Rose is shunned.

    Ironic?
