The convention center where it was to be held went under about 30 days ago and the show was cancelled. Unfortunately, if one were tosearch the web (as I did), it still says the show was on........NOT. Its usually a decent show too!

How and where did you hear it was cancelled?? I checked just the evening before and as far as I could tell there was still a show scheduled. So I drove to Buena Park from San Diego, taking a YN to only her second show, only to find an empty building! Quite a few others drove up looking for the show as well, so I wasn't the only one that had no idea the show was cancelled. They didn't even have the courtesy to post a notice on the door. I was quite disappointed and felt very bad after having gotten my young friend all excited about attending the show. So, is this show cancelled permantely, or just this time around?

I spoke to a dealer friend who is close to the promoters of this show. He indicated that the Retail Clerk's Hall, where the show is usually held, decided not to renew the contract with the promoters. The venue they used for the last show in March, the Sequoia Club, is experiencing financial difficulties and cannot host the show at this time. The promoters are looking for another venue, or may try to renegotiate with the Retail Clerk's Hall. I hope they're successful, because this was a popular local show that had a solid following. Time will tell.
