Or read, why did I buy that coin?!

I hit the refresh botton and this coin appeared. Before I could gather my senses, I bought it.

eBay Impulse Buying. It can be dangerous!

(((PS: Anyone know what the heck this coin's all about?! ::: image::: )))

There was a small piece of metal or wire between the planchet and die that became inbedded in your new $100 coin.

That's a big prem for such a minor error. Retained foreign objects are cool & unusual though.
Change that we can believe in is that change which is 90% silver.

At least it wasn't the complete collection of "Mama's Family" or a Pocket Fisherman in the original box.
  • Dude.............................. We've all been there and done that.

It is kinda cool though image

Especially on Contemporary Proof coinage. I'm hoping the silver colored metal will show up well, contrasted against the gold color of the coin. image

  • WOW, I love errors such as that. At least, it is slabbed and noted. Also, that is one heck of a nice strike for a keeper!!!

I've got well over 100 1997 errors & the only similiar examples I have is a Proof JFK with strike thru (object not retained) and a biz strike ASE with a wad of wire retained.
