I'm sorry guys, but Opera is better.

Many more useful features and less buggy. Give it a try if you haven't already. It's all I use anymore image

I have been using FireFox for around a year. In my opinion it is FAR superior to IE. Long live open source software.image

    Congrats on the switch.image

  • I just dowloaded it and am currently using it. I have one question though. What happened to my list of forum friends that is normally at the top of the page when I use IE? It want that back.image

Came home, had my son download Firefox, he's very impressed. Some things you may have to re-do but I love it-what a change!

But Opera is adware unless you buy it. Firefox is free.

Buggy? I have no problems at all.

I like it too, but have you been able to install any plugins? I've tried, but so far the browser just hangs when I attempt to go through the process.

You have to turn on it on to let the plugins be installed. It is in the settings somewhere.

  • Can you allow pop-ups for certain web site? For example, PCGS or NGC. Or does it just block all pop-ups all the time?

I found it under "tools" and "options." You have to "allow web sites to install software."

Nope, Mozilla. Though I think they operate on Linux, dunno.

As for Firefox v. Opera.. I suppose it's just a matter of opinion. But it seems that Opera's features are much more thought out and more efficient, plus easier to use. For example: mouse gestures. That little feature alone can jack up browsing speeds if you're half as neurotic as me image But in Firefox you have to install the bootleg plugin and that still gives kinda lousy responses. Plus the tabbing system is has a lot more options in Opera. Those are just two areas. I do like how Firefox applies plugins, but I haven't found any that are all that worthwhile. Most FF plugins are just playing catchup to Opera it seems. Opera is ad supported, but of course there are no popups, just a banner in the top right which doesn't get in the way (I still havent paid, I ought to send them money sometime tho).

Crap.. gotta run and pick up some emergency ingredients for dinner image Quick wrap up: I should add that I don't work for Opera, just think it's better than the rest in my experience.
  • I still use IE and the last 6 months, after I cleaned up my computer. No virus, no popups no spyware no adware at all. Computer is top top speed.
It is not the browser, it is your computer and how you protect it .
